The Saskatchewan Population Health and Evaluation Research Unit is an interdisciplinary population health research unit made up of researchers from the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina, with sites in Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert. The Unit promotes health equity by understanding and addressing health disparities through policy relevant research.
The Unit conducts research into the social and environmental determinants of population health under the broad categories of research on health determining conditions and evaluation studies of policy and programmatic interventions to make social and environmental conditions more health-promoting and equitable. Their research is focused on three broad areas:
- Northern and Aboriginal health;
- Healthy children; and,
- Rural health.
