The mission of the Atlantic Health Promotion Research Centre is to conduct and facilitate health promotion research that informs policy and practice and contributes to the health and well-being of Canadians with a special focus on Atlantic Canada. The Centre aims to collaborate with community, academic and government partners and to design strategies that will increase the impact of health promotion research on public policy.
Included in the Centre's objectives and services provided are research consultation and support, coordination of health promotion events, provision of student training opportunities, and dissemination of research results and information about health promotion research activities and events, resources and funding sources. Recent research projects and publications have included a focus on food security in Nova Scotia, Knowledge Translation for stroke researchers, and health issues in rural areas.
