The Centre for Community Health Promotion Research is a team of researchers and associates who work in partnership to influence health and social change through programs of research, education and training. The Centre's major focus is on research that investigates the complex interrelatedness of the broad determinants of health and systemic changes required to promote health, particularly at the community level. All of the research in which the Centre is engaged is Community-Based Collaborative Action Research.

The Centre for Community Health Promotion Research focuses on five main research areas:

  • primary health care;
  • effectiveness of health promotion;
  • vulnerable populations and health disparities;
  • community youth development; and,
  • literacy and health.
