Canadian Council on Learning Health and Learning Knowledge Centre Project
The CCHPR has agreed to play the lead role in creating and maintaining selected collections of unpublished and published documents in health and learning for the Health and Learning Knowledge Centre of the Canadian Council on Learning (CCL).
This will entail work on two major activities in which the CCHPR will play a coordinating and leadership role in developing a system among existing research centres and networks to develop and maintain resources. In the first, Developing and Maintaining an Inventory of Canadian Unpublished Research/Reports and Researchers, the focus is on inventories of Canadian researchers and research projects/programs as well as collections of selected unpublished and out-of-print documents. In the second, Maintaining a List and Links to published Meta-Analyses, Research Reviews and Major Research Reports, creating listings and links to published research reviews, meta-analyses and major research reports are the focus.
These inventories and listings will cover the three main thematic priorities of the Health and Learning Knowledge Centre, namely:
- health literacy and issues related to access to health and learning service for vulnerable populations;
- healthy communities of learning, in various social, physical, economic and cultural settings; and,
- building capacity in community, professions and health, education and learning systems.
The goal of these two activities is to ensure that the Health and Learning Knowledge Centre becomes the primary reference point for knowledge relating to the health and learning of Canadians. This consultation will ensure that the Knowledge Centre is linked to existing centres of Excellence as well as other CCL Knowledge Centres to offer a seamless system of accessing selected unpublished and published works.
The work conducted through these activities will be coordinated with the planned international forum on Healthy Settings that will coincide with the 19th IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion and Health Education being held in Vancouver June 10-15 2007.
